As a general trade show rule of thumb, it is unwise to turn down free food, free IN-N-OUT burgers even more so. With this in mind, we gladly accepted the invite from Microsoft's Gamerscore Blog. We met fascinating people, ate delicious food, and enjoyed one of the few relaxing moments available during the otherwise hectic GDC schedule. And of course we scored a total megaton story, which was nice. Check out our shots of the event and experience the thrill vicariously through the magic of the internet.

Having left the West, I miss Whataburger more than In-N-Out myself.

Everybody just got back from Portillo's here at work. I f'n love Portillo's. Big Beef with Hot Peppers... I wouldn't trade that for any fast food in the world. I do have to say that it costs more though.

In-n-Out is the most overrated burger in the world. Maybe I was too hyped up when I tried it... but so bland and plain.

I dunno where you live, because where I'm at, they really do have the best fastfood burger out there.

In-n-Out is so terrible. Portillo's is at least twice the restaurant at about the same price.

Whether you liked it the one time you had it or not, In-N-Out has the midas touch and I suspect you'd come around if there was one near you.

Maybe it's overrated, but if so then it's been overrated for 60 years by everyone who lives near one.

Man, I absolutely love IN-N-OUT. Being out in the central states, I only get to eat this once a year when I get to Vegas. They really need these over here. We've got our Culvers, but that isn't a good replacement for IN-N-OUT.

Burger Shack Employee: Ding-dong! May I interject for a second? As a Burger Shack employee for the past three years, if there's one thing I've learned, it's that if you're craving White Castle, the burgers here just don't cut it. In fact, just thinking about those tender little White Castle burgers with those little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in your mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one... Just makes me want to burn this motherf*cker down!! Come on, Pookie, let's burn this motherf*cker down!! Come on, Pookie! Let's burn it, Pookie!! Let's burn this motherfucker down! Let's burn it down!! Let's burn it!
[trashes front counter of Burger Shack]
...So you guys maybe should just suck it up and go to White Castle. [nod]
Kumar: You can always get your work done in the car.
Harold: Let's do it.
Kumar: All right. Awesome. Then listen, listen - no matter what, we are not ending this night without White Castle in our stomachs! Agreed?
Harold: Agreed!
Burger Shack Employee: Wise choice. You guys might have wanted to stay away from our special sauce tonight. Me and Pookie, we added a secret ingredient. I'll give you a hint. It's semen...
Harold: [sarcastic look] ...Semen.
Burger Shack Employee: Animal semen!
Harold/Kumar: [drive off, screaming]

Dick's Burgers, Seattle. Best fast-food burgers around. Though, they are only in Seattle so if you haven't been here, you have no idea!

I'm a vegetarian, but I would be willing to forget my principals to try one of these fabled In-N-Out burgers.

I would had never guessed that you were a vegetarian.
With that avatar, I would have thought that you were more inclined towards the desire of the flesh. ;P

All the people who've posted here about how about how In-n-out burgers aren't the best they've ever had are obviously not ordering right. When you order a burger at in-n-out, you have to order it "animal style"....otherwise you just get a regular hamburger....which is quite normal tasting....

if you haven't ordered an in n out burger animal style....then you aren't allowed to comment on the quality of the burger....
a 3x3 animal style = incredible

Aw, I was going to go to this (and also pay my own way b/c I'm press), but after being at the show all day, I opted for more mundane things, like going grocery shopping and having dinner with Mrs. Dorkelson.
Sounds like it was fun. I'm glad you guys don't take free food. Willingness to accept freebies is one thing that's bugged me about game journalists I run into at the handful of industry functions I've been to.
