Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas soundtrack is going to rock
The Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas soundtrack has been outed,
and it's filled with classics. The last game's music was a stroke of genius; pumping new life into old tunes, and
giving the game a special touch that made it sell even better. But the next CD will be a cornucopia of great songs
that puts most movie soundtracks to shame. How the hell do these guys secure the rights to all these songs?
Here's the full list. Wow:
Salt'n'Pepa - Push it
Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby
Inner Circle - Bad Boys
KLF - 3am Eternal
Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
Jane's Addiction - Been Caught Stealing
Poison - Every Rose Has It's Thorn
Guns'n'Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine
Smashing Pumpkins - Today
NWA - **** Tha Police / 100 Miles And Runnnin'
Snoop Doggy Dogg - Gin N'Juice / Ain't No Fun
Warren G - Regulate
Fugees - Killing Me Softly
Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise
Public Enemy - Rebel Without A Pause
The Stone Roses - Fools Gold
Happy Mondays - Step On
The Verve - Bitter Sweet Symphony
Radiohead - Creep

If San Andreas is supposed to take place in the early 90s, what is Bitter Sweet Symphony doing there?

Is that the official list, Vice City had more tracks no ?
That soundtrack would certainly rock but like the previous comment said some of these tracks arn't contemporaneous.

Bitter Sweet Symphony is not only wrong time-wise, it's also one of the most annoying songs ever made (since it starts out so promising, and then never goes *anywhere*) add that to The Fugees mutilating "Killing Me Softly" and beginning the decline of Hip Hop into covers band territory, and I don't know if this sound promising at all.
It also leans heavily Brit. KLF, The Stone Roses, Massive Attack and the Happy Mondays hardly ever registered on the US charts.
Disappointing, taken as a whole.

Thats not the full list of songs, cause I just heard officially that A.F.I. has a cover of NIN's Head Like A Hole thats going to be in the game.

San Andreas will have 3 times the amount of music in Vice City. Vice City has about 3 CDs worth I think. So, there'll mos def be more music than this.

It has Nirvana in it, what more can I ask for?, Smells like teen spirit is my favorite song, and it includes some other great hits like coolio's, guns n roses and more, i hope they'll include more of nirvana, some of Metallica and some other great songs.

i don't think that list has to do anything with the actual san andreas soundtrack...the game's in early 90's right? i think early 90's is like 1990- mid 1993. and if the games's all gangsta and shit what's vanilla ice doing there? yeah, he was big and stuff but i just don't see myself shooting mexicans in a pinto while singing ice ice baby. or many songs on that list. by the way...where's 4 non blondes?? ha!
keith @ Dec 18th 2005 8:46PM
why is bitter sweet symphony on the soundtrack list!!?? san andreas is supposed to take place in like '92-'93 bitter sweet symphony was made in like '97 or '98. gangsta's paradise fits the game perfect but that was in '96 i think. bad boys and been caught steelin fits it perfectly!!!=) and i agreee with the guy that mentioned ice ice baby is corny to put here!!!

I love GTA but, when are they going to make it to a point where it's not all about guys? Gamers should have a choice of playing a girl or a guy. I'm a girl and everything in the game is based on a guys perspective. Girls play too.
