The first annual Women's Game Conference will be held on September 9 & 10 in Austin,
Texas. The event is being organized by The Game Initiative and will showcase a number of
developers, manufacturers, publishers, and educators associated with the industry. According to Christopher V.
Sherman, Executive Director of the conference, "The average age of gamers is 29… and a third of game players are
women." Among its various initiatives, the conference promises to offer career advice to women looking
