Burnout 3 is EA's first half-assed forray into the world of Microsoft's Xbox Live!. Many a
news story has been written about the MS/EA battle over online community sharing. For those in the dark, EA refused to
be a part of MS's proprietary community/billing system. They won that argument and are now trying to have their cake
and eat it too, with one foot in their own lobby and the other on MS's backbone. Well, EA has some of that cake on its
face today, as Burnout 3 is getting hammered to the point of bringing down online play. According to Spong, the growing
pains of the EA/Live! union have left players offline. There's not much hope that the game publisher will
backtrack and do the right thing, but you can be sure that they now know the power of Live!
