Sony to purchase MGM, inherits key franchises
According to recent reports, Sony and several other large investors (including Comcast) have
made a winning bid of roughly $4.8 billion to purchase MGM studios, just beating out Time Warner. With MGM, comes a
number of film frnachises ripe for videogame adaptation. Of course, the two most significant, James Bond & Rocky,
have already been made into numerous games across a multitude of platforms. Still, Sony reps must be salivating from
the thought of exclusive ownership.
