Courtesy of Weekly Famitsu, new details surrounding Namco's Ridge Racer for the PSP have been exposed. As it turns out, it's not an entirely new creation, but will instead blend elements of past Ridge Racers with some original content. We now know that the game will feature 24 tracks, some new, some redesigned from previous titles, each unlocked via the Ridge Tour. As for car selection, Namco hasn't revealed a specific number, and to date, we've only seen three models. As far as graphics, the PSP game looks comparable to the Ridge Racer PlayStation 2 debut, but we'll have to wait until the finished product to make an accurate judgement. Namco has also added the arcade classic, Rally-X, to the load screens—a nice touch. There's also promise of wireless multiplayer, but it's unclear how many players that will include. Ridge Racer should be out in Japan by December, heading westward shortly thereafter.
