Official word is that Everquest 2 is inevitable and wants to be on your hard drive badly. The official press release
follows code to a "T".
Sony Online Entertainment this afternoon shipped EverQuest II to retail outlets across North America for the PC.
EverQuest II builds on the long-running massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), featuring revamped
visuals, 16 races spanning 24 classes to play as, access to the world of Norrath, and over 70,000 lines and 130 hours
of dialog. The game also features over 160 creature types, new character and item customizations, and voice work by
actor Christopher Lee (Star Wars Episode II, Lord Of The Rings) and actress Heather Gram (Boogie Nights, Austin Powers:
The Spy Who Shagged Me). The game comes in Collectors Edition, CD and DVD versions, each of which includes a 30-day
subscription, with the DVD and Collectors Editions both including a variety of in-game items. EverQuest II carries a
monthly subscription fee of $14.99 USD.
Escapism from this cruel, dangerous world for 15 bucks a month. Sounds like a deal to us.
