Nintendo adds third DS factory due to demand
Nintendo hoped they would be able to sell 1 million units of their
new Nintendo DS portable game console in the US around the
holidays. Instead, 2 million pre-orders have flooded in, and in response, they have added a third DS factory in
China. While this won't fill the initial 2 million pre-orders, it will allow Nintendo to get 2 million in
circulation within a couple months. Nintendo now expects to sell 4 million DS units by the end of the fiscal year
in March. So who's left to buy the PlayStation
Portable, which drops 10 days later in Japan?
