Anandtech worked its benchmarking magic on Half-Life 2 a year ago, when they were given access to the "old" version
of the game. Now, a year later, they take another look at the final version, strictly by the numbers. They throw a bag
of ATI and Nvidia cards into some rigs and pound away to see who runs the game fastest. There are deifinitely some
surprises in here.
Of some interest to us die-hard gamers is an off-the-cuff observation by the writer — Nvidia was in trouble at this
time last year, with Half-Life 2 benchmarks showing their cards lagging. The fact that the game was delayed just bought
the company time to get it together. Put on your tinfoil hat, and think about it.
