For anyone with an interest in the growth of massively multiplayer online games, this
makes
interesting reading. A snapshot from right before the highly
anticipated "World of Warcraft" from Blizzard starts sucking money straight from wallets around the world. A game that
looks great and sounds great, or so you hear because while all your friends got to play the beta for free for six
months all you got to do was look on enviously. Not that I'm bitter or anything.
The figures make for interesting reading. The game that was once king, Everquest, is starting to stumble a little.
With a growing pack of dogs on it's heels going by the names "Galaxies", "World of Warcraft", and even "Everquest 2",
the battle is on. The MMORPG scene has to reach saturation point, and when it does there WILL be a body count. This
analysis gives you an idea of what games are likely to be first against the wall.
