It's the sad thing with gaming. There are legendary names that a lot of people know. You mention Sid Meier or Will
Wright, and the majority of gamers will know who you mean. On the other side, though, if you
mention Richard Garriott, unless they're an older gamer, there's a
good chance people will say "Who?"
Garriott is the legendary game designer behind the Ultima series, a franchise that sold by the truck load in it's
various incarnations, and also resulted in one of the first truly big MMORPG's, Ultima Online. Very few game developers
can claim to have created a series that spawned more than ten related titles. (Unless they deal in EA Sports
shovelware.)
"Lord British" is a true legend in the video game world, and it's always fun to read an interview with someone who
holds such a lofty poisition in the hearts of many a gamer.
