Two of the most anticipated games in recent memory,
and they ship within a few months of each other. Weird that.
Right then, I've not seen any specific rivalry brewing, but with the gift giving season approaching, if you're going
to be asking for a game, unless you've been a very good boy/girl, you're only getting one from your Aunt Martha. So
you'd better make the right choice, or risk spending Christmas in a cycle of alcoholic depression and self abuse over
your misguided decision.
Which is the better of the two titles? Well Carmack fanboys will scream "Doom!" of course, while Valve fanboys will
scream "Half-Life!" What better way to settle the issue than to face the games off against each other? Well, Carmack vs
Newell in a steel cage death match fighting for your love and adoration would be the ultimate, but sadly you'll have
just have to have the games go head to head for now.
