I've read a number of great reviews of Halo 2, but most seem a bit too deferential to the title. That always makes
me suspicious (this coming from the guy who keeps writing about Half-Life 2 being a candidate for Game of the
Century).
Spong has thrown up a six-pager that lays it out flat on the table. Halo 2 is amazing. There's no doubt about it. But
didn't it leave you wanting on some level? The review dares to take on a possible reason for that little hole in your
enthusiasm. While the piece focuses less on the game and more on the experience of playing the much-hyped Halo 2, it
nobly tries to put the game in perspective. Spong is their usual sassy self, typoes und awl (we've all been there,
right?). But it's definitely worth a read. And certainly worthy of a flame or two. Especially if you get irritated by
schizo conclusions. You'll see what I mean.
