All I can say is about time. All the arguments over the years have blamed either the
parents, or the game companies. Very few people seemed to blame the
retailers for not enforcing the ratings system. Well, that is starting to change in Canada.
Ontario, along with Manitoba and Nova Scotia, have taken steps to making sure that people under 18 can't rent or
purchase violent games. Ontario even went so far recently as to slap the Rockstar game "Manhunt" with an "R" rating. A
rating previously reserved exclusively for movies.
This move will probably upset a lot of people, but if it keeps GTA: San Andreas out of some 12 year old kids hands,
it's worth it. If protecting the industry from government meddling means a bunch of early teens don't get to slit
throats in GTA, so be it.
