Wanna learn to fly? Well, we'll teach you…
The ingredients are simple:
(1) Energy Sword
(2) Map that includes a Warthog
(3) Map that includes a high point
(4) optional: Map that includes a Banshee (to reach highest points)
Note: keep in mind that many of these items can be added to any map using the built-in menu system.
Okay, so how does a sword, a Warthog, and a Banshee allow you to fly? (And no, we don't mean abandoning the Warthog,
popping into the Banshee, and taking to the skies) We mean, sword in hand Master Chief/Covenant Elite soaring through
the air! Alright, alright, let's get to it…
This glitch can be used in any number of locations; we're going to pick Coagulation for this example. Okay, so you'll
need two players. We recommend that one grab a Warthog and the other a Banshee. Meet near the center of the map, and
position the Warthog so that if a player is sitting shotgun he/she can line-up the targeting reticle with the sniper
cliff (the one Bungie added; only accessible with Banshee… don't worry, you can find it). Cool?
Now, with sword in hand one player must get into the passenger seat. Once inside, the second player shoulder approach
the seated player, causing the seated player's reticle to turn red (indicating that he/she can execute the sword's
lunge attack). Now, go ahead and press the right trigger, the seated player should feel a small vibration, but will not
actually lunge out of the Warthog. Note: It's very important that the seated player not push any more buttons until the
second player is in position (feel free to move the aiming reticle though).
The second player should now get back into the Banshee and fly up to the sniper cliff. He/She must then exit the
Banshee and get into a direct line of sight with the Warthog. Once in position, the seated player must move his/her
reticle over the second player now on the cliff. Don't worry, the reticle won't turn red. And now, just press "X"...
Up, up, and away!
