We're positive that many of you have heard of this thing, but please cut us emulator-newbies some slack. An app
called Kaillera is available for free download. It lets you play your emulator games online. We have no idea how they
do it, and we don't care. We do know it works (with some lag and hiccups, at times). This is the kind of thing that
would have made us die happy children back in the 1980s.
From the developer's website:
Kaillera is software called middleware. Middleware gives applications, such as emulators, the ability to do things not
originally supported by the original application. Kaillera makes it possible to play emulators and other applications
online. It adds little overhead, and little problem to the developers who choose to incorporate it.
In the future, Kaillera may develop into more of a community of users. But first, We will concentrate on making the
Kaillera client/server architecture work better and more efficient.
