Everyone raved over "Medal of Honor" when it came out, especially for it's simulation of the
D-Day
landing, inspired very obviously by "Saving
Private Ryan". Later WW2 shooters have in many cases been inspired by "Band of Brothers", including the first MOH
expansion pack, as well as the first segment of missions in the first COD title. And believe me, that is not a
criticism, since "Band of Brothers" created some of the most striking war visuals ever created on film.
COD has always made a big deal of combat not being a one person affair, but being a visceral experience shared by
many. The original COD on PC had some of the most cinematic moments of any game. Downright terrifying in some spots if
you consider what it must have been like to live through it for real.
Cue the latest COD title, this time for Xbox. The games presentation, unsurprisingly, stands out above all else. The
game looks like a great one if you're a fan of WW2 shooters, though later missions are apparently pretty difficult.
Overall, if WW2 shooters are your thing, it sounds like you could do a lot worse than Call of Duty: Finest Hour for
your little black Microsoft powered box.
