If there's one benefit to Sega leaving the hardware market, it's that it's Megadrive/Genesis
icon,
Sonic, is now free to go where he pleases. And roam he has.
There was always a rivalvry, in my experience, between Mario and Sonic owners. Sonic owners would say "Mario is for
kids!" Sadly, the Mario fans never got to respond as they had to go and have nappy time. (Sorry Mario fans. Old
alliances die hard. My wife is a Mario fan. Tense times around the console, I can tell you.)
Sonic Mega Collection Plus for the PS2 is very similar to the Gamecube version. There's a few more goodies, which I
guess justifies the use of the word "plus", though it seems to be mostly Game Gear titles. Not entirely useful. But if
you always chose Sonic over Mario as I did, then this collection will amuse and, most likely, entertain, while making
you weepy eyed with nostalgia.
