Okay, so maybe if we were in league with the Korean government (North or South), we would believe that Ghost Recon 2
is an evil game—at least, a game worthy of banning. And while it's understandable from a Korean
perspective, we here at Joystiq have no problem with the game, that is, unless it's the PS2 version.
Yes, the recently released PS2 Ghost Recon 2 is definitely the lesser of the two—click here for our impressions of the Xbox version. The main
problem is, well, the game is bad. In an attempt to appeal to a mainstream audience Red Storm & Ubisoft opted
to turn the once wide-open, squad-based, tactical shooter into a close-quarters, dumbed-down, linear (& scripted)
action fiasco. Much like the Democratic Party this time around, the gang really lost track of their base, and in
doing so misfired into a genre that is dominated by, simply put, better competition.
Oh yeah, and the online multiplayer stinks!
