Xbox 2 and Playstation 3 will be wireless
It's not a big surprise, but the next generation Sony and Microsoft consoles will come with wireless built in,
allowing them to act as hubs. The idea is inevitable with all the buzz about making the game machine a standard part of
every living room. This frees up MS and Sony to fiddle with the functionality of the machines to their hearts' content.
Of course, this also frees up the public to fiddle with the functionality as well. That's where the real fun will be
found, and you better believe it.

What would be cool?
Lets see... How about playing a season of Madden on my Xbox 2 and my PSP? I could play Madden while I'm at home and transfer the file save to my PSP, all the while continuing to play the season while I'm on the road. After I play a few games in transit to work/school, I get home and transfer the file save back to the Xbox 2.
How about playing a RPG or racing game via co-op with an Xbox 2 player, PSP player, and a PS3 player via the LAN connection (Wi-fi)?
How about transfering shows I've recorded on my TiVo (PVR) to my PS3 or Xbox 2 in another room, or PSP (to view on the go)?
Just some thoughts...

Ya, that is true jd. being able to go on the internet with my console, wirelessly, doesn't really appeal to me. But that is a pretty sweet idea jd

sounds all good, but more features = $$
I'm one of the few who liked the idea of straight-up gaming console by nintendo (although they messed it up in other regards)...
sometimes all I want to do is play games, this whole convergence deal doesnt ring by bell...

hmmm... Though Nintendo hasn't released many details, i bet their new systems will have wi-fi too, like the NDS.

This turned out to be wrong.
The XBox 2's specs were released, and it does not have wireless.
HOWEVER, Nintendo's CEO announced that the Revolution WILL have wireless.
No info on the PS3.
