In response to developers' concerns over the new Playstation 3 "Cell" chip, IBM and Sony have set out to ease minds. While the new technology is exciting, it also promises a number of headaches with a shared-resources core, that will bring about complexities in the development process that gamemakers are nervous about. While the chip's builders promise ease-of-use, we can tell you right now that most developers will believe it when they see it. Still, just the fact that they want to calm people down is a good sign. It shows confidence, and foresight. Hopefully, their optimistic predictions will be even half-right.
