MechAssualt 2: Lone Wolf aside (and do we even count it?), Star Wars: KOTOR II is the last blockbuster sequel to drop this year, in what, can only be remembered as, "The Year of the Sequel". And so, yes, KOTOR II is the sequel to end all sequels, thankfully.
The best sequel of the year? Hardly. A great game? Sure. Unfortunately, it's a great game
that many of us have played before. To be fair, Obsidian has done a great job recapturing the KOTOR universe, but
we can't help but wonder if Jade Empire is the true sequel we're looking for.
KOTOR II is still one of the best RPGs out on the Xbox, and it will most certainly suck you in with an engaging
storyline and its ethical choices. But some technical shortcomings—lack of graphical improvements—hurt the
overall presentation, which can come across as dated. There just aren't many surprises here, but that isn't
necessarily a bad thing…
