Mega Man X8: time to hang it up?

Mega Man X8

Eight volumes deep into the "X" series—let's not even begin to tally the origninal series or the countless spinoffs—Mega Man has definitely seen better days.  And after the disaster that was Mega Man X7, Capcom's unofficial mascot was in need of a serious makeover…

The solution?  Just replace the horrid 3D level design of X7 will 100% good ol' 2D side-scrolling action.  Done.  Game over.

The result?  Let's just put it this way, if you want Mega Man go dust off your NES or SNES.  Either that, or cop Mega Man Anniversary Collection.  Just, whatever you do, stay away from Mega Man X8.
