There has already been a Miami Vice game. Way back in the mists of time the title was released for the Commodore 64 and Sinclair Spectrum. This was in
the 80's of course. Memories of the game are dim. It involved driving from a top down view. And you could shoot things.
That's all I remember. In some ways it could be seen as a very early precursor to Grand Theft Auto. (Screenshot to the
right is of the original, as I'm a sucker for 8-bit nostalgia.)
Unsurprisingly, the new Miami Vice title is, apparently, crap. This review cuts the game very little slack, and why
should it? The game is little more than a cynical attempt to cash in on 80's nostalgia. What next? A Streethawk game?
Just like Miami Vice, there has
already been one.
