If I were a gambler, I'd put my money on multiplayer mobile games for cell phones. Sure, it sounds risky, but I'm a gambler in this scenario! This is not to say that the DS and PSP should be afraid of your handset, but the thing does have some standards built into it that could make for some quick and fun gaming. Soft-keys, pseudo-stable operating systems, http communication (with ip to follow soon in the US). The multiplayer aspect of mobile games is only now getting started up, and a lot of money is getting pumped into the developers' coffers. Yahoo breaks down the market, and shows why so many big money firms are watching closely. Whether the games are good or not is another matter. But if it were easy for you to push a button and start playing chess with a friend, wouldn't that be worth a few bucks?
