The two most-anticipated PC games of the year were certainly Doom 3 and Half-Life 2. Sure, there were a lot of other titles waiting for their chance to shine, but these two had the weight of the world on their shoulders. Avault takes a look at the two of them in a head to head format. It's a little wishy-washy and never comes down too hard in favor of one title or the other. Personally, Half-Life 2 would take practically every category they lay out in my little world. By the end of the piece you'll feel like you've been sitting through your niece's "He loves me, he loves me not" session. But with observations like "Doom 3 has a better depiction of fire, while Half-Life 2 has a better depiction of water," the writer actually makes some good observations.
