EA buys Ubisoft…
At least a chunk. Although neither
publisher has commented on the proposed $100 million deal, all sources point to EA buying 20% of Ubisoft's
shares. This comes as little surprise however, since the EA beast has been gobbling up developers, publishers,
and even NFL licenses at will. And with Digital Illusions' recent rejection, EA has got to be hungry for a big
name. With the Clancy franchise, Prince of Persia, and a host of other acclaimed titles, Ubisoft definitely fits
the mold.
