GTR is coming

First, there was SimBin. A group who created a sportscar mod for F1 2002 from EA. Thengtr one day, they closed up shop, nuked all their downloads, and turned pro. This is the result. A lot of good press is being thrown around about GTR. This link is an example, though not quite as sychophantic as some I've read.

GTR is based on the same engine as EA's "F1" games, produced by ISI. A friend of mine who has actually raced in the real world, and is an avid simmer, has played all the F1 titles, as well as GTR. He said the AI has improved (it was always a problem in the ISI titles apparently), but is still brain dead at times. On the whole, said friend wasn't that impressed, saying that while GTR was a good effort, it still felt like you were essentially playing a mod, rather than a "developed from the ground up" game.

Regardless, if sportscar racing is your bag, GTR is coming in early 2005. Unless you're German. In which case it's already out I believe.
