Nintendo DS sales reach 2 million
Nintendo is all smiles this holiday season, reporting that sales of the DS have exceeded 2 millions units (US & Japan combined). A projected 2.8 million units will have shipped by year's end, and these figures still don't seem to meet demand. Not to mention, Europe is still waiting on an official launch—tentatively set for late March. So, even despite mediocre software, it looks like the DS is in the running for this holiday's Tickle-Me-Elmo. Let the games begin!

How long did it take Apple to sell its first million iPods? Wasn't it 18 months?
In 1 month, the DS has more than doubled that.
Amazing!

And yet there has been no figures released. I don't care what gi has said. Nintendo has not yet released any data on sales.

2 mil out and no one has yet to make a game that really makes the touch pad necessary, at least the psp got ridge racer and movies
or maybe those millions of people just want it to get better grafix out of the favorite gba games

apple comparaisons are unnecessary.. apple sells 4 million a month.. the reason that 'time until first million' number gets thrown around is because, of course, apple didn't advertise much until the ITMS came out.. int April 2003 was it?.. That's what the iTMS is FOR.. to pump iPod sales...
When the iPod first came out it didn't even work on Windows, and it wasnt until later that iTunes for WIndows was released.. bad analogy..
