First it's the spouses of programmers complaining. (When would an EA programmer have time to
get married anyway?) And now the wives of those playing the products
produced by the programmers.
My first thought when reading comments like these is "Quit complaining! If you don't like it, then say "It's the games or me." Writing and bitching to a website is hardly going to solve the situation now, is it? I often wonder if the reason one person is spending so much time playing a game is because there are problems elsewhere in the relationship that they're trying to get away from. The fact the wives, and it is "game widows" rather than "widowers" in most cases, just moan about it rather than trying to do something is sad. I wonder how many have tried to join their partners and actually try games rather than just complain about it?My wife did this, started playing, and my wife is now a gamer, just like me. Just not to quite the same degree.
Of course, this raises an entirely new issue: Like how to get my wife to quit "Burnout 3" so I can play…
