Back when the original MechAssault (Xbox) hit the scene it was Xbox Live. Now, as developers & publishers scramble to (Live) enable their games, there are so many competitors in the field that MechAssault 2 hardly stands out as a "Lone Wolf". Still, Microsoft's sequel improves upon the original in many ways, but in truth, is still marred by a boring single-player campaign. But MechAssault was (and is) all about Live, and in this regard, Lone Wolf offers the same addictive, pick-up-and-play arcade action, while implementing greater team dynamics and strategy. There's also the intriguing Conquest Mode, which should please fans and add longevity to this title. At the very least, Lone Wolf is worth a rental (if you have a Live account!).
