While not the immediate death knell for the machine, in the UK, the device has been dropped from the ELSPA charts.
ELSPA being the European Leisure Software Publisher's Association if I'm remembering it correctly.
Apparently charts for the N-Gage will still be available, though the quote is the chart is "of no interest to anyone".

What do you think was the N-Gage's biggest problem? Its schizophrenic nature? (It's a phone, it's a games machine,
it's a dessert topping AND a furniture polish"). Lack of decent software?
