Gaming Illustrated has done up a review of the D-Link DGL-4300. The so-called "wireless gaming router" has been
designed from the ground up to work well with games. It's certainly a good idea. The device promises the latest in
security and performance, in the guise of D-Link's GameFuel technology. The proprietary tech is meant to reduce latency
and make for a faster online gaming experience. It sounds like it does its job well. Minus the Xbox Live!
incompatibility, that is.
On a side note, it would be great if someone could make a router that made ip gaming easier. Here we are in 2005, and
every time I find a new game I want to play via ip there are router or firewall problems. I can join a game, but I
can't create one. I can create a game, but I can't join one. I can join a game but it won't start — and on, and on.
Sure, I could use the game matching services, but I don't like them. If a router can promise me security, performance
and ease-of-gaming, it may get my buck.
D-Link DGL-4300 review calls it worthy
