Is it normal for gaming review sites to go so mad over an imported version of a game? One that
we,
ourselves, will be getting in three months? I've never paid this much
attention before.
This time Gamespot previews the career mode of the game. More license tests to lead us down the road to premature
baldness. Hurrah! Though from earlier previews, it seems you can import license tests completed in Gran Turismo 4:
Prologue. There's just one problem. That title wasn't released in the US. No word if the Japanese save will work with
the US version.
I still remember the horrors of the Dodge Viper/Laguna Seca test in GT2.

Yawn.
This series has gotten so dull it isn't even funny. With the loss of online play and so many delays, other games have come along to stal its thunder. Not to mention that the PS2 Looks like ASS compared to the Xbox and Gamecube.

Except the game comes with LAN play, and people have already figured out how to play it over the net, so online is covered, albeit unofficially.
As for the PS2... Are you insane?

Yeah. The Gamecube does things TONS better than PS2. Where have you been? Rouge Squadron pushes 3x the number of polygons as Gran Truismo.

Before you laugh at the GameCube...

And know that Rebel Strike pushed 20 million REAL WORLD polygons on screen at the same time.

Gran Turismo may be the shit. I will not argue that point even though I do not particularly like that type of game.
If I did, I'm sure I would agree.

back to the topic.... I heard that GT3 saves would be imported, not GT4:Prologue... furthermore I don't recall having seen licences in GT4 prologue at all... but then again, I didn't have that myself, just tried it out a bit... GT4 is very nice nevertheless, especially the Nuerburgring Nordschleife circuit... with a Sauber Mercedes C9 :D

I want to like Gran Turismo but I can't. The cars all feel so slow. The control is floaty and the whole thing just turns out dull. I played the heck out of GT2 but, after the Burnout series, there is no going back.
Burnout made me realize that having FUN is more important that 'realism'.

I'm going by what I read about Prologue. Plus I've downloaded videos of the license tests from Prologue too.
I read about GT3 saves early on, but haven't seen anything since.

Truthfully, I think the only fan boys are the ones defending their console that is prone to breaking down, pushes fewer polygons with fewer effects and more jaggies than the competition, and loaded with over-hyped, dull games that have to be delayed to have the online component removed.
I don't know where you get off calling someone a fan boy cause they state the FACT that the GameCube is much more powerful than the PS2.
Who is the fan boy here? The person who states the FACT that A is superior to B, or the person who says 'A is Dumb!'?
If all you can do is put down a vastly superior console in order to feel good about yourself, you are probably overcompensating for a small wee-wee.
As a matter of fact, I see LINES trying to put down more people, games and consoles than anyone else. You want to point to a fan-boy and laugh, there's your target.

I couldn't care less which console is the most powerful. That's irrelevant. You should go for the console that has the most games that interest you. For me, that's the PS2. It's all very well saying "Oh, GTA will be out on the Xbox"... Yeah, in about five months time, when it's already last years news.
And G.Freeman... Your argument would be a lot more convincing, if you didn't immediately start throwing mud at the PS2.

I don't care if playing a game is newsworthy or not. I care about if the game is good.
I'm not slinging mud at PS2. Gawd, I got 2 of them. I'm saying that people who blindly support their console without recognizing its faults or the advantages of another console are the true fan-boys.
Look at LINES who laughs at the Gamecube and barfs on anything that he does not like. You may not like the gamecube, but it is VASTLY superior in every way to the PS2. No bones about it!

Gran Trismo 4 is the bomb I tell you. I love racing games and out of all the other racing games GT4 is the best. Even the wanna be GT4 for Xbox called Forza does not even compare to GT4. Forza might have good graphic but looking at the background sucks like hell. GT4's got the realistic look and best drifting style. Hardest game I've ever played and very challenging.
