And that was a 1 percent decline from 2003! The newest trend was portable gaming, as sales for all things handheld broke the $1 billion mark for the first time—DS, baby!

Madden ‘05 (PS2) - 3.2 million

Pokemon FireRed (GBA) - 1.2 million
Live ‘05 (PS2) - 1.2 million
Spider-Man 2 (PS2) - 1.1 million
Halo - 1.1 million
ESPN 2K5 (Xbox) - 1.0 million
