The level of animosity felt toward Electronic
Arts in the gaming world right now is at astronomical levels. If you believe in karma, EA have something very, very bad
headed their way in return for all this. I have never seen this level of hatred aimed at a company. Not even Microsoft.
The whole deal sickens me, and pretty much every other sports game fan I've come across on the net since it was
announced. I've yet to see a single positive comment on the deal. Some people are even considering filing complaints
with the FTC. Gamespot have allowed Frank Gibeau, EA's marketing drone, to justify the deal.
In related news, there's a rumour floating that an exclusive deal between Sega/Visual Concepts and Major League
Baseball is almost done. While any company behaving like EA is a bad thing for consumers, Sega/VC are just playing with
the hand they've been dealt, and let's face it, anyone getting one up on EA at this time is a good thing, if only for
your sense of fair play.
