Marvel Comics have done themselves absolutely
no good by filing what can only be described as a spurious lawsuit against NCSoft. For those who are unaware, the suit
claims that the City of Heroes MMORPG violates their intellectual property because of what its users can do. The case
is ongoing, and NCSoft have filed a motion to dismiss the charges. Their argument has been laid out well. Here's hoping
common sense prevails.
So, Marvel suing NCSoft for what a user may do. Isn't that like suing Ford because someone may use one of their cars to drive to the local Kinko's to photocopy some X-Men books?
