The sound card wars look to be dead for now,
but Creative Labs won't let that stop them from introducing pseudo-generational leaps in their audio tech. This leap is
so big, apparently, that they forgot a whole generation. The Audigy 4 is the follow-up to the Audigy 2 ZS; leaving the
Audigy 3 on the side of the road, in the rain, without a master.
The review seems to love the card…for audio connoisseurs and movie watchers. As usual, the tech that Creative brings
to the table is top-notch. The reviewer says that Audigy 2 owners can keep their cards and get about the same
satisfaction. The real benefit of the 4 can be heard when you listen to DVD-audio, or other HD formats.
It looks like us gamers can wait for Audigy 6.
