Apparently, the Chinese government has banned
50 "illegal" electronic games. It's unclear whether or not these games are illegal because China says so, or
because they are actually pirated versions of acceptable games. It seems that the list is comprised of
both. That is, pirated versions of games like The Sims 2, Manhunt, & FIFA 2005 are banned—but if you own an
authentic copy that's okay? But then other games, deemed "illegally distributed foreign" titles (Conflict
Vietnam, Devastation, etc.), are not cool to own, period. Joystiq suggests playing on the safe side,
avoiding any form of the games listed on China's 50 most wanted.
China on a banning rampage!
