When fall rolls around this year, when the leaves are falling from the trees, when winter is
just
around the corner, Konami will roll out a
new Castlevania for the Playstation 2. Hector has fled Vallachia for a normal life. Bad things have happened. He
returns to fix things, and then has a nice sit down. That's the plot in a nutshell. (Except the sit down bit. That's
just my preferred ending.) The official word from Konami is the game takes the franchise in a fresh new direction, and
offers new gameplay experiences.
I still await the day a developer says "Yes, our new game will be the same as the old one, and bring nothing new to
the table. We're all too tired, and we think the customers are suckers that will buy it anyway, so why bother?" Pass
the peyote, Ben.
