The fine folk over at the ever lovely Gamespot have a preview of Electronic
Arts latest venture into the NASCAR franchise, that being
SimRacing.
It sounds like EA have put in a pretty solid career mode, thankfully dumping the stupid storyline type deal that their
console based NASCAR games are infected with. (I think we can blame Codemasters entirely for the rise of that
particular demon. Damn you, Toca Race Driver.) This sounds far more like a management style career mode. In fact, from
reading the preview, it sounds a lot like the old Grand Prix Manager games Microprose put out, and believe me, that's
not a bad thing at all. Only unlike the Microprose effort, you get to race the car too.
The game is sounding suspiciously good so far. I know a lot of people who will, most likely, die of shock if the words
"EA" and "simulation" can be used in the same sentence, without "can't make a" seperating them. We'll find out soon if
we need to mass order funeral supplies.
