Climax Group is working on some middleware called Tomcat, that's designed to help make the next generation of console games a little easier. In essence, it's a shader management tool, with some networking and mapping tools thrown in; which should free up resources for developers (who will need every resource they can get for Xbox2 and PS3).
The GamePro piece has some nice tidbits in it, including a tiny peek at what to expect from massively multiplayer
online games on the next generation consoles. A quick, easy read for those of us who don't like to stretch ourselves on
