Gamespot Hardware makes an interesting observation about some of the tech that Apple implemented into its latest hot
item, the Mac Mini. The machine uses cabling and power systems that could give power gamers - who want smaller rigs -
some reason to drool.
The MXM slot, a laptop tech that's been implemented in the Mac Mini, allows for easy swapping of video cards — an
essential part of any game rig. Big deal, right? Well, it allows for swapping in a tiny form factor, meaning a powerful
computer can be built around what is, in essence, a laptop tech.
Most game rig modders would probably scoff at the suggestion. But there are a lot of modders out there who want to
build power rigs they can carry to LAN parties without breaking their backs.
