It's been out a little while now, but still
the buzz around the title is minimal. This is baffling, as it's a terrific game! Admittedly I've been buried in GT4:
Prologue recently (brushing up some skills for two weeks time), but Mercenaries is still at the top of the pile. Yet
nobody seems to care about the little game that could. (Though it is seemingly sold out at Amazon Canada. In PS2 form
at least.)
Well, I care. I care that Lucas have put out a fantastic game, designed by Pandemic. I care that it's GTA with
military hardware. I care that it's an absolute blast and the most fun game I've played in a while. I even
reviewed it here I liked it so much!
Gamebiz feel the same way, giving the game a huge 95 out of 100. It reviews the Xbox version, though interestingly
mentions textures issues, just like I noticed on the PS2 version. They also lament the lack of multiplayer. BAH! So
many games focus on their multiplayer at the expense of the single player experience, it's nice to have a single player
only game. Multiplayer be damned!
