The common wisdom has been that the Playstation 3 will make its first appearance at E3, this year. The company said as much several months ago. But it looks like Sony would rather not share the spotlight with its competitors, who are both debuting some semblance of their next-gen offerings at the event. Luckily, the Sony spokesman made it very clear that this does not mean the console will be on display at the earlier GDC event. That should save us a few days of speculation. Clearly, the company is doing its best to stay in the spotlight. They did just unveil the chip tech for the PS3 yesterday, after all. How many more news cycles can they consume?
