Come March 24th, the PSP will already have 5
games with online functionality in its lineup: Twisted Metal: Head-On, ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin' Trails & three 989
sports titles (MLB, NBA & Gretzky NHL). This is an impressive push, seeing as how the DS still doesn't have any
online games—not to mention, it took the current generation of consoles almost a year to get it going.
All 5 games will feature two wireless multiplayer modes. The standard method will connect PSPs that are close together (i.e. in the same room), while the "infrastructure" mode makes use of the built in Wi-Fi to link players over the Internet via hotspots. The 989 titles support only 2 players, and ATV up to 4 players, but Twisted Metal boasts as many as 6! Watch out Nintendo, big things are happening, big things…
