Hasbro almost got into the console market before. In 1989 the company where I was then employed had a prototype of a Hasbro system calle Issyx. This was a box that went inbetween a VCR and a TV. Games ran from the videotape which also supplied a four track video feed. Many titles later associated with the Sega CD originated on this system. Night Trap, Sewer Shark, Make My Video, and others. Hasbro couldn't figure out a way to get the price below $300 and scrapped the project after investing tens millions of dollars.
