Game Sharing, which allows game data to be downloaded into the device's RAM (until the unit is turned off, that is) has been successfully demonstrated in the upcoming Namco Museum for the PSP. The game in question will allow a PSP user to temporarily download seven of Namco's arcade classics to his PSP, even if the person in question does not own a copy of the Namco Museum disc. This is a small step toward full-fledged Game Sharing, which would allow several PSP owners to play a wireless multiplayer game, even if only of of them had the game's disc. The GBA has enjoyed this feature from its inception (albeit hardwired), and the DS has even already sported a few games featuring single-pak multiplayer ability. Although perhaps we shouldn't hold our breath for single-disc Ridge Racer multiplayer. Consider a European developer's tongue-in-cheek remark, "there is Game Sharing, but no one really knows how it works," which implies that this holy grail of wireless multiplayer may still be a ways off for the PSP.
