Perhaps in an attempt to thwart Take 2 Interactive, EA may be
releasing their annual baseball game a week earlier than originally planned. Not that EA's said anything, of course,
but
GameStop.com and
EBgames.com
are now listing MVP Baseball 2005's release date as February 22, 2005. It was originally scheduled to be
released on March 1, the same day that Take 2 was scheduled to release their yearly roster update, er, baseball title,
MLB 2K5. March 1 will also see Sony ship their annual contribution, MLB 2006, while Nintendo will be
last to the party this year, releasing the GCN-exclusive Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball over a month later on
April 4. For a comprehensive list of this year's releases, take a look below.
-
Electronic Arts | MVP Baseball 2005 (PC, PS2, Xbox, GCN, PSP) | February 22, March 11 (PSP) | $29.99, $49.99 (PSP)
-
Take 2 Interactive | Major League Baseball 2K5 (PS2, Xbox) | March 1 | $19.99
-
Sony Computer Entertainment | MLB 2006 (PS2, PSP) | March 1 (PS2), March 24 (PSP) | $39.99
-
Nintendo | Nintendo Pennant Chase Baseball (GCN) | April 4 | $49.99
NOTE: I expect certain prices and dates to change as they near, especially the titles being released in April. A $20 difference between the PS2 and PSP versions? That doesn't seem right.
