HL2 Expansion in the works?

For once we're reporting a rumor to squash the rumors.  Yep, according to an email from Valve's Doug Lombardi (via ComputerGames.ro) there are no plans to release a Half-Life 2 expansion, for now.  Lombardi allegedly wrote:

Despite the rumors, Valve has not announced any plans for an HL2 expansion.
